Simulating a fake location (different from the one you are at that moment) can have several reasons that I am not here to list.
Here is how to simulate a fake location on Android.
Then go to Settings in Developer Options.
If you do not see the Developer Options in your phone settings, go to Phone Information and click many times quickly Build Number until the message “Now you are a developer” will display. At this point you can continue with the guide.
Enable Developer Options at the top right corner of the screen and press Select mock location app.
Now in the list that has just appeared, select Fake GPS.
Now open the app Fake GPS location, drag the map to the point where you want to pretend to find yourself at the moment (it must be located under the central icon of the app) and click on Set location.
For instance, here I wanted to pretend to be in Hollywood, Califonia.
Deactivate the simulated position
Once you want to disable the simulated location click on Stop and then close the app
